According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan coach Chivu spoke about the team's signings in an interview with SportMediaset, saying that the club hopes to improve the quality of the squad and its overall level.
Chivu talked about everything in the interview: Lautaro Martinez, Pio Esposito, young players, and the club's transfer market.
The Inter Milan coach said: "Lautaro is our captain. Because of his love for these colors, because of his feelings for this team, and because he may have been disappointed by losing the World Cup final. I saw that he was very motivated and came back with the right ambition as soon as the World Cup ended. He cut his vacation short and even started training during his break. I think he is almost ready to have a great season."
The next question points to the Argentine striker's teammates, those who are expected to continue starting for Cagliari. The recent focus is on Pio Esposito.
Chivu stated, "We don't have a fixed starting lineup because there are no fixed positions in football. We value competitiveness more, and we value players who can bring their own characteristics to the team. Pio is very important to us, in many matches, because he knows how to integrate into the team, knows how to train, and can also elevate the level of his teammates in the same position." Speaking about the transfer market, Chivu said, "Our operations are very sensible.
